[ The rebel organs appreciate not being tread on. And the rest of him sure appreciates her reconsidering that walk. For a second, things seem to hover somewhere responsible between slow and steady or full throttle, but once she settles in, caution throws itself to the winds on both fronts. It's just so nice. ]
[ As she settles for threading fingers through his hair, he lets his hands slip around to her waist, one continuing on down and hooking under her thigh as his own legs shift, just enough to buck his hips up beneath her and holy shit, is it more tempting than anything to just go for it... But if he had to be begrudgingly honest with himself, even this is just getting heartpounding in the achy, exhausting kind of way. Not to mention the spins that are definitely coming on in spite of his closed eyes. ]
[ ... Alright, no, this is a little too much. He lets out a noise against her lips, struggling not to sound nauseated, and hands fly to push her up a bit. ]
[ If there's one thing she was listening for, one single thing, it was a wait. She'd been into it, enjoying the kiss, even working up to a playful nibble of his bottom lip -- but the second that wait comes she's up immediately, hands flying up like she's trying to dissuade someone with a gun. And, kind of, she is. ]
Holding! Don't fucking do it Sigma, not in the bed -- [ And on that note she's also rolling off of him, poising at the edge of the bed to see if she should dash for the garbage can for him.
It's all a hell of a way to wake herself up from the sleepy stupor of just a few minutes ago. ]
[ Somehow he feels like a cat being shooed off the carpet... As if throwing up wasn't already enough of a buzzkill. ]
[ As she lurches off of him, he lets out a quiet, pathetic whine through his teeth, clapping his hands over his eyes like it would hold the world still. ]
I'm not, I'm good! We're good! I'm just... it's just the dizzy bit...
[ Who's he trying to reassure at this point? Probably the both of them. For a hot minute, he's trapped in that hellish limbo, trying to decide whether it's best to hold as still as possible or gun it for the bathroom. It almost never works out, but he holds his ground. ] C'mon, there's like nothing left for you to get rid of...
[ He stays motionless for another minute, save for his chest heaving deep breaths, and his knees tucking up ever so slightly... He's got this, it's cool. He swears. But the next couple words he manages come out dejected. ]
Why am I pretty sure you've used that tone on Pepper before...
[ Reassured, Ramir lets her alarm melt back into sympathy. She eases out of the sprinter's readied hold and back onto the bed properly, and from there takes a seat next to his head to brush fingers through his hair. Not in the sexy way this time, in the way she remembers her mother doing. Any ventures back into the former territory definitely sound like a bad idea. ]
Is that who taught you to almost-barf on the bed? I'm gonna have some words with that cat. [ she smiles, though. ] This isn't gonna last too much longer. It's just the last shitty little hurdle.
[ In fact, she's already feeling better. She can feel the fatigue creeping back in again, but otherwise things are starting to look up on her side. ]
[ Hands still over his eyes, he can at least feel her settling back beside him on the bed. When soothing fingers start combing their way through his hair, he lets his own drag down his face for another attempt at looking up. Things seem to have simmered down in the vertigo department, at least, so he repurposes one of those hands to rest back on her leg where she sits. ]
Yeah, she taught me to do the noises too, wanna hear?
[ Actually, ow, even the thought of making cat dry-heave sounds in jest makes his stomach clench up even more unpleasantly. He sighs, tries to smile again. Manages a grimace at best while he mumbles, more to himself than anything. ]
This is what I get, isn't it? For being all hunky-dory while you guys are losing your minds for weeks... This is karma...
[ She snorts, but: ] This is definitely what you get. Next time try not being fucking immune to it.
[ There's no vehemence to it, though. She's glad he was strangely immune to it. The thought of both of them going through what she'd gone through... well, they may not have made it. She's sure she owes her success to Sigma in general, after all.
With that thought in mind she shifts again, this time to lie herself down. ]
Hey, make room. [ It's a superfluous command; she's making her own room as she squirms in next to him. ] Taking a walk was the worst idea I ever had.
I couldn't help it! [ No real vehemence to hers, just as there's no real defense to his. If he hadn't had this weird immunity, they both would have set each other off and he'd have been done for weeks ago. Small miracles... No, pretty damn huge miracles. ] Take a hit of one deadly virus cure, cure 'em all, I guess...
[ Not that it had been in this body specifically, but the memories are still there. Maybe his mind rejected the idea of a repeat incident so hard it shut the virus down in his system. If only physiology worked like that. He sighs and moves just enough to get an arm under her head and tug her up to rest against his chest before he falls still once more. Really determinedly sinking into his pillow. ]
Good, 'cause we're never getting up again.
[ He doesn't need to be frozen to laze through this suffering. Witness him. ]
